1. The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Stride Technologies Limited, a company registered in Ireland (company number 820026), registered office 2 Kindlewood, Fire Castle Lane, Kildare Town, Co. Kildare, R51 CY22, Ireland ("Stride Hub", "we", "us"). They apply when you use the Stride Hub apps for iPhone, iPad and Android, the web app at stridehub.app, and related services (together, "Stride Hub"). By creating an account or using Stride Hub you accept them. If you use Stride Hub for an organisation, you accept them for that organisation and confirm you are authorised to do so.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and forms part of these terms.

2. Who can use Stride Hub

  • You must be 16 or older to hold your own account. A younger rider can take part only as a rider managed by a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms for them.
  • You must give accurate details and keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • An organisation's owner is responsible for who they invite, the role each person has, and what those people do in the organisation's workspace.

3. Your licence to use the apps

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Stride Hub apps on devices you own or control, and to use the web app, for as long as you have an account and follow these terms. On Apple devices this licence is limited to use on Apple-branded products as the App Store usage rules allow.

You may not copy, modify, sell, rent or sublicense the apps; reverse-engineer them except where the law allows; remove notices; or use them to build a competing service. We and our licensors keep all rights not expressly granted.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • break the law, or use Stride Hub to harass, threaten, defame or discriminate against anyone;
  • post content that is unlawful, obscene, hateful, or that you do not have the right to share, including photos of other people or their children without consent;
  • access another person's or organisation's data without permission, or try to get round role and access controls;
  • interfere with the service, overload it, or scrape it with automated tools;
  • upload malware, or impersonate another person or organisation;
  • enter payments, prices or results that you know to be false.

You can report messages, marketplace listings and Sam answers, and block other users, from within the app. We review reports within 24 hours, and we may remove content or restrict or close accounts that break these rules. We tell the person affected, and the person who reported, what we decided. How it works is on our support page.

5. Organisations, bookings and show entries

Stride Hub is a platform. When you book a lesson, take a livery place, buy from an organisation's shop or enter a show, your contract for that service is with the organisation, not with us. The organiser is the seller of a show entry or booking; Stride Hub is the platform, not the seller. The organisation sets its prices, what is included, its refund and withdrawal policy, its entry conditions and any waivers, and Stride Hub shows them to you before you pay. We are not responsible for how an organisation runs its lessons, yard or show, for the condition of horses or venues, or for results an organiser publishes, though we will help where we can.

Organisations using Stride Hub agree that they are responsible for the data they keep about their customers, members and staff, for having a lawful basis and any consents needed, and for their own terms with their customers.

  • When a person deletes their Stride Hub account, Stride Hub removes its own account links from the Organisation's records and otherwise leaves the Organisation's customer and staff records unchanged. The Organisation remains the controller of those records and answers that person's requests about them; Stride Hub forwards any such request it receives and assists as processor.
  • Organisations get 30 days' notice by email before we start using a new sub-processor, and may object by cancelling their subscription.

6. Payments

  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details go to Stripe and never reach us. Stride Hub collects payment as the organiser's limited payment collection agent, so a payment to Stride Hub counts as a payment to the organiser. Organisations that take payments also accept Stripe's Connected Account Agreement.
  • A per-payment service fee applies to show entries hosted on Stride Hub. The organiser chooses whether it absorbs the fee or passes it on to the rider, and a rider sees any fee before paying.
  • Prices, including VAT where it applies, are shown before you pay. Amounts are worked out on our servers from the organisation's stored prices.
  • Stride Hub does not issue refunds for bookings or show entries; those follow the organisation's published policy, and it is for the organisation to give them. Your rights under consumer law are not affected.
  • Stride Hub's own charges. Organisation subscriptions are billed monthly in advance, and a cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and are not refundable. Sam credit packs are bought on stridehub.app, not in the app, and are refundable within 14 days of purchase if none of the pack's credits have been used. We give no other refunds.
  • Nothing in the mobile apps sells digital content or features; in-app purchases are not used.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of what you or your organisation put into Stride Hub: records, photos, documents and messages. You give us a licence to store, copy, process and display it only as needed to run Stride Hub for you, including showing published results and show listings publicly where an organiser publishes them. You confirm you have the right to upload it.

8. Sam, our assistant

Sam is available to organisations. Its answers are generated automatically and can be wrong or incomplete. Check anything important, especially anything about money, health, safety or results, before relying on it. Sam acts only within the access the person using it already has, and asks before changing records. Sam's usage is metered in credits, as shown in the app.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep Stride Hub available and your data safe, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some features work offline and sync when you reconnect. We may change or withdraw features; if a change significantly reduces what an organisation pays for, we will give reasonable notice.

10. Ending the agreement

  • You can stop using Stride Hub at any time and delete your account in the app (More, then Privacy & data, then Delete my account; see how to delete your account). The Privacy Policy explains what is kept after deletion and why.
  • An organisation can cancel its subscription at any time; it ends at the close of the current billing period.
  • We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where the law requires it. Where it is fair to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to export your data.

11. Liability

  • Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
  • If you are a consumer, you have legal rights in relation to services that are not provided with reasonable care and skill, and these terms do not affect them. We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care; we are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses.
  • If you use Stride Hub for an organisation, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill or data, or for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the greater of the fees the organisation paid us in those 12 months and €100.
  • Equestrian sport carries risk. Stride Hub records information; it does not supervise riders, horses, lessons or shows.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live and can bring a claim there. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will tell you about material changes in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can stop using Stride Hub and delete your account before then.

14. Apple App Store terms

If you downloaded the app from Apple's App Store, these terms also apply:

  1. Acknowledgement. These terms are between you and Stride Technologies Limited only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
  2. Scope of licence. Your licence is limited to using the app on Apple-branded products you own or control, as the App Store Terms of Service usage rules permit (except that the app may be used by other accounts linked to the purchaser through Family Sharing or volume purchasing).
  3. Maintenance and support. We are solely responsible for maintenance and support (support page, hello@stridehub.app), and we reply within 2 working days. Apple has no obligation to provide any.
  4. Warranty. To the extent any warranty applies and we fail to meet it, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund any purchase price paid for the app (the app is free). To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
  5. Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims by you or a third party about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar law.
  6. Intellectual property. If a third party claims the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging the claim.
  7. Legal compliance. You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated a "terrorist supporting" country, and are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  8. Developer contact. Stride Technologies Limited, 2 Kindlewood, Fire Castle Lane, Kildare Town, Co. Kildare, R51 CY22, Ireland, hello@stridehub.app.
  9. Third-party terms. You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when using the app, such as your mobile network's terms.
  10. Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, once you accept them, may enforce them against you.

15. Google Play

If you downloaded the app from Google Play, Google Play's Terms of Service also apply to the download. Google is not responsible for the app or its content.
